Hugh Taylor, owner and proprietor of Taylor Mining Services Pty Ltd, a company incorporated in 1996, is a Registered Surveyor with the Surveyors Board Queensland with a mining endorsement for all mines. Hugh is also a member of the Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors and is the holder of a Mine Surveyor Certificate of Competency as issued under the Queensland Mining Acts through the Queensland Board of Examiners. In 2010 Hugh became a qualified Site Senior Executative (SSE) under the Queensland Coalmining Safety and Health Act (1989).

Prior to 1996 Hugh's experience included 28 years as a Mining Surveyor and Technical Services Manager for local and interstate Coal Mining Companies.

Since 1996 Hugh has operated Taylor Mining Services Pty Ltd, and carries out Mining, Mining related and Detail Surveys for development projects. Reinstatement, and Cadastral Surveys are carried out by our associate licensed consulting cadastral survey company. Hugh has extensive experience in all aspects of mine surveying including underground and open cut surveys, void surveys, mine stockpile surveys, mining lease surveys, mining reports and mine rehabilitation assessments, planning and auditing. Hugh also has extensive experience in Cadastral, Engineering and Detail Surveys.

Hugh has worked on the rehabilitation and monitoring of abandoned mines, that includes examination and maintenance of the current mine, mining lease and any rehabilitation, exploration and subsidence issues. He has been involved in the survey and maintenance of mines in the Ipswich area for over 40 years and has an extensive library and knowledge of the past, present and future mining in the Ipswich, Rosewood and Bluff, Central Queensland, areas.

Hugh Taylor has been a Certified Mine surveyor since 1973, commencing his career with Rhondda Collieries near Ipswich. He has been involved in all facets of mining and mine surveying. A major part of Taylor Mining Services work is in the preparation of Mining Reports on past mining activities. These reports involve a considerable amount of research including extraction of past and present mining plans for evaluation as to public health and safety issues including subsidence and spontaneous combustion.

Taylor Mining Services has a strong working relationship with Moreton Geotechnical Services Pty Ltd who provide the geotechnical part of mining reports required for Development Approvals.

Taylor Mining Services has worked on projects involving the rehabilitation and monitoring of abandoned mines in the Ipswich, Rosewood and Bluff, Central Queensland, areas. This involves the examination of the current mining lease, environmental and subsidence issues. Taylor Mining Services has been involved in the assessment of coalmines in the Ipswich area for over 20 years and has a large personal data bank of mine plans, geological reports, mining lease information and mine workings reports for the Ipswich / Rosewood, Bluff Central Queensland and other areas.
